Oh no, not another prophecy

April 12, 2018

It seems that every fantasy book has some sort of prophecy in it. I tried so hard when I was writing Quest for the Three Books to keep the word prophecy out of it.

I used “legend” instead.

I get to book 4 of the series and I realize I must just give in to the Dark Side.

Prince of the Ruined Land cover small

The prophecy has been fulfilled: the Bloody Saint has returned.

Steigan was known as the saint and betrayer for a reason: where ever he went, death and destruction followed.

Now his enemies attack the gates of the ruined city of Lilinar to capture him. There will be no escape for him this time and no saving his friends. He has nothing but the debris around him.

And the advantage of a lifetime to plan.

Will it be enough to stop the threats retaking the land or to save his friend from turning to the evil powers that he knows will possess Martias?

The fourth story in the legend of Dominus Steigan continues in this epic fantasy adventure.

Releases Tuesday, April 17, 2018.

Pre-order now.

No, wait! I better start the series first!

Onesong – Chapter 33

March 7, 2018

Okay, I’m going to admit that it was in writing this chapter that I really started to enjoy Cirvel. He’s always been an interesting character, but he becomes so deliciously cunning here that I really started to adore him. He was good fun before, but now… now I really long to tell his story.

This chapter also came about because of working on the audiobook for Quest for the Three Books. I was at the part where Greytas is standing against Steigan at the Induction Ceremony where Steigan becomes Martias’ Sacred Knight and Greytas makes a comment about how the ceremony had become a circus show. The more I thought about it, the more I wondered if this world had circuses. Obviously they must, right? It was said, therefore there must be a circus. So, I wrote a scene to add a circus. It was a completely dislodged scene and I had no idea where it would find a home. Then I started writing the rest of the scene in this chapter and I knew the circus would fit in here.

That’s when Cirvel started showing his true devious colors. Read the rest of this entry »

Onesong – Chapter 27

January 17, 2018

This is going to be a short chapter this week. Very short. I’m still piecing Onesong together and haven’t really been working on it the last couple of weeks. My brain has been possessed by my other idea as well as those edits for Prince of the Ruined Land. Yeah, I do want to get that out soon! I’m sure everyone would love to quit hearing me talk about it so they can be reading it.

There might also be some creative procrastination going on with Onesong. Every now and then I have to put a story aside so that I can figure it out. You wanted to come along on this adventure with me, so here you are, rowing in the same boat I am. (grin)

But first, a special announcement. Click the image to learn more. (Don’t worry, another tab will open so you won’t forget to come back and read Onesong.)

Onesong – Chapter 26

January 10, 2018

I feel like I’ve been talking too much already this week. I do have to admit that I feel a little better after my online “journal-ing” on Monday. I still won’t say that I completely understand what’s going on in my head (I think that’s impossible), but maybe I am one step closer.

Since I’ve already been blathering on this week, let’s get to the story.

The story is experiencing growing pains. I thought I’d show you where the chapters are at right now.

List of scenes - no longer chapters

Yes, this is the typical experience of me writing a story. There are some major changes ahead. I don’t know how much longer I can hold her together. (sheepish grin). I’m doing what I can.

Onesong – Chapter 21

December 6, 2017

One of my fears with releasing this book online chapter by chapter as I have been, is that there are spoilers to the Sacred Knight series in here.

I’m going to let you know now that because I haven’t yet released Prince of the Ruined Land, I am removing some bits of Onesong so as to not ruin the twists and turns in Prince of the Ruined Land. So far, the story threads perfectly together without these small parts, but just in case over the next few weeks there are parts that seem to jump or are rushed, that is the reason.

This is so important to me because I want to save all that information for those of you that have been loyally reading the Sacred Knight series over the years and are waiting for the answers you know are coming. Major information is revealed in Prince of the Ruined Land.

Seriously, if you haven’t been reading the Sacred Knight series, or started but haven’t finished through To Birth a Destiny (History of a Dead Man is a companion novella, but Read the rest of this entry »
